Freddy's Tops at this year's Taste of Kelowna.
Freddy's Brew Pub won the Judges' Choice Award, chosen by the media. Freddy's was co-winner of the judged competition in 2003. Freddy's combination of sushi, tandoori chicken, Ceylon prawns and micro-brew beer was a hit with the judges and the public.
Bowl for Kids raises $16,000
Big Brothers and Big Sisters received more than $16,000 from a weekend Bowl-a-thon. Friday night, Pushor Mitchell Law offices competed with Westside Fire Rescue - the winners, for the top fundraising team. "We hope that participants will help us get the word out that we need volunteers - mentors - as much as we need funding," said Leanne Hammond Komori, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
